CV Performance Group celebrates 1th European championship victory

Lorenzo Travisanutto successful in Genk

Last weekend, the CV Performance Group attended the FIA Karting European championship in Genk with four drivers. The KR-team drove throughout the course of the three race days in top positions and mastered the changing weather conditions greatly. In the end the victory of Lorenzo Travisanutto was celebrated.

The CV Performance Group by head of the team Christian Voß gives everything. Only one week after the victory at the German kart championship in Wackersdorf, the team traveled to the Belgian Genk. The second run of the FIA Karting European championship took place on the 1.360 meter long track. The event was accompanied by FIA president John Todt and CIK-FIA president Felipe Massa.

Once again the weather was making trouble: On all three days it was raining partially strongly and a sure instinct was needed for the choice of setup. In qualifying Lorenzo Travisanutto was lagging behind his usual form. However, throughout the heats he fought his way up from rank 28 to rank 2 -  a strong race to catch up which was rewarded in the end. In the final he took over the leading position and drove through rainy weather conditions to his first win of the season. Now, he is ranked second in the championship and has best chances of the European championship title.

Next to him, also the Finnish driver Nikolas Pirttilathi is driving in the top ten. The Youngster showed in qualifying constant performance and was rewarded with fourth starting position. In an eventful final he improved in the top ten and was ranked seventh. Unfortunately local hero, Kobe Pauwels, did not attend the final. The same fate overtook the Spanish Junior Maximus Mayer.

After the sensational victory head of the team Christian Voß was very pleased:

Until the jump onto the upper podium we worked hard and were rewarded in the final. Lorenzo dominated the race and dictated the speed on the top. Also Nikolas counted to the top drivers this weekend and is ranked tenth in the championship. Now we want to get the European championship lead in the second half of the year.

Already this upcoming weekend the group around Christian Voß will continue. Then the next run of the IAME X30 Euro Challenge will take place in the Italian Castelletto.
