CVPG holds its own at FIA EM kick-off

CV Performance Group assert themselves at the FIA European Championship kick-off

Three drivers started at the first race of the FIA Karting European championship

There is not much time to take air for the CV Performance Group. The team started at the kick-off of the FIA Karting European championship for Easter in Angerville.  At the Kart Grand Prix of France the drivers showed a strong performance. Ranked seventh, Lorenzo Travisanutto made it into the top ten.

With blazing sunshine, 146 pilots started into the first round of the FIA Karting European championship. With Lorenzo Travisanutto, Kobe Pauwels and Nikolas Pirttilahti the CV Performance Group sent three fosterlings into the race and had best chances of a higher place with the trio.

The reigning world champion Lorenzo Travisanutto still has unfinished business with the European championship after last year and wants to jump far ahead this time. After a solidly qualifying he ended four out of five heats in the top six and was ranked eleventh in the temporary rankings.  In the big final he made good ground and saw the checkered flag as seventh.

Additionally to him, also the Belgian driver Kobe Pauwels got into the final and also belongs to the top drivers in the heats. He got three sixth places and one third place. Unfortunately he had to suffer from a setback and lost his final starting place in the top ten. He started from position 20 and improved until the checkered flag fell to rank 18.

The Finnish driver Nikolas Pirttilahti almost made it into the final lap. In all heats he was going towards the final and was always placed within the top ten. But in one heat he dropped out and missed qualifications. Ultimately he missed the final with only a blink of an eye being placed 35th.

Head of the team Christian Voß drew a positive conclusion from the races and is looking forward to the upcoming ones:

We had a great kick-off and were competitive with our drivers. Without the deficiency of Nikolas in the heat, he would have also made it into the final. Ultimately, we were the best team from Germany and got championship points with Lorenzo. We created a base we can build up on.

Already this upcoming weekend, double pressure is waiting for the KR team. The second race of the ADAC Kart Masters will take place in the German Ampfing while at the same time the WSK Euro Series will be hosting the next round in Angerville.
