Next DTM Trophy victory for CVPG

Next victory for CV Performance Group in DTM Trophy

William Tregurtha successful at the Red Bull Ring

In Austria, the DTM Trophy heralded the halfway point of the season last weekend. The CV Performance Group was once again one of the top teams, celebrating its second victory of the season with William Tregurtah in Sunday's race. Rookie Matias Salonen had his best weekend yet.

Only two weeks after the exciting races at the Nürburgring, the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Team went on to Austria. This time, the DTM Trophy was a guest at the Red Bull Ring – as the overall leader, Christian Voß's team wanted to further extend its leading position.

With third place in qualifying for Saturday's race, William Tregurtha again secured a good starting position. However, he received two penalties in the race and scored zero points. The British driver wanted to make up for his lost ground on Sunday. For the first time he started in Lausitz with the design of sponsor Hampel Multihandel and celebrated his second victory of the season after a sensational race. He now occupies second place in the overall standings.

"I am super happy with Sunday's result. The team deserved the win, especially after the disappointing Saturday. The car was unbelievable today and a testament to our hard work," Tregurtha was in a good mood on Sunday evening.

Finnish rookie Matias Salonen also had every reason to celebrate. In his first race on the high-speed track in Spielberg, he showed a strong development and delivered two strong races with seventh and sixth places. In the overall standings, he moved up to ninth place.

"I am very happy with the progress this weekend. On Friday I started from scratch, we then improved from session to session. I still found places on the track where I could improve. The team did a great job again and is a big part of my results," beamed the Finnish driver on Sunday evening.

In the end it was also a successful trip to Austria for head of the team Christian Voß: "Of course it is a pity that we did not score any points with William on Saturday. The loss throws us back a bit in the overall standings, but with the victory on Sunday we have once again underlined our possibilities. A big thanks to our partners for their excellent support this year."

In just two weeks, the DTM Trophy will continue again. Then the team will be in the Dutch Assen with its Mercedes-AMG GT4 for the third foreign guest appearance of the year.
