William Tregurtha completes DTM Trophy CVPG squad
British driver has many years of sports car experience
The driver duo of the CV Performance Group for the DTM Trophy has been confirmed. Wiliam Tregurtha from Great Britain drives the second Mercedes AMG alongside rookie Matias Salonen. The start of the season will take place next weekend in Monza, Italy.
Already a few weeks ago, the CV Performance Group presented its first driver for the DTM Trophy. Matias Salonen from Finland is contesting his first sports car season in the Mercedes AMG. With William Tregurtha, the rookie now gets a fast teammate.
We are delighted to have William on our team. He contested his first season in the sports car in 2017 and immediately became British champion. These are good prerequisites for being successful in the DTM Trophy as well,
says team boss Christian Voß, convinced of his new protégé.
Tregurtha counts as one of the fastest drivers in the sports car sector and has also been very successful beyond his title.
In recent years, he has competed in various international racing series and was also victorious at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
This will be a new challenge for me. The DTM Trophy offers a good basis for attractive racing. I had the chance to test the Mercedes AMG and felt comfortable right away. Now we are looking forward to the first race, where I will fully attack,
says the British driver, highly motivated and in a good mood.
Next weekend (June 18-20), the DTM trophy will be launched in Monza, Italy. In total, the race calendar includes seven stations in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Italy. Sports channel SPORT1 broadcasts all races live on free TV and on pay-TV channel SPORT1+, as well as on the web portal Sport1.de, via the SPORT1 app and via the Facebook page SPORT1 Motorsport. The offer is complemented by the broadcast on DTM Grid, DTM's own streaming platform.
